We welcome volunteers at Solent Infant School, and we aim to match the needs of the school with the skills and interests of the volunteer. We generally ask volunteers to commit to a week, a fortnight or ideally a regular weekly time slot so that teachers can plan and prepare for their visit. Family members will not work in the same class as a relative. Volunteers support the class team and will not be asked to work alone with children.

Volunteers will be asked to provide:

• A completed ‘Volunteering at Solent’ application form (including references and further information about specific skills and experience)
• Any information about the requirements of their course or placement (if applicable)

All volunteers will need to complete a volunteers DBS check as directed by the school.
