I have been a Solent Governor since 2018; I was initially approached by a friend whose child attended the Solent Schools and who thought I’d be an ideal School Governor bringing my Human Resources skills to the committee.
I volunteered as a Governor to give something back to my local community and also because my employer supports its staff to undertake volunteering projects. I have worked within Human Resources for over 20 years in both the public and private sector including being the Personnel Manager of a local Sixth Form college for some 5 years - thus I have some education sector knowledge and experience. I was born and raised in Portsmouth and the surrounding areas and also live locally. My interests include travel, languages, foreign culture, theatre and cinema. I thoroughly enjoy being part of the Solent Schools community with its professional staff, pleasant environment and happy, well-behaved children who are encouraged to work to the best of their abilities. It is a pleasure to watch them grow and develop.
